About Elk Components

Our Story

Elk Components was founded in 2012 by Mark Sorensen, an electrical engineer who spent 15 years in supply chain management at a contract electronics manufacturer. Frustrated by long lead times, inconsistent stock levels, and poor communication from existing distributors, he started Elk Components to provide a better option for small to mid-size buyers.

From our 18,000 square foot warehouse in Portland, Oregon, we ship over 3,000 orders per month to customers across the United States and Canada. Our inventory is 100% inspected and traceable, and we maintain ANSI/ESD S20.20 compliant handling throughout our facility.

What Sets Us Apart

Most large distributors focus on high-volume accounts and leave smaller buyers waiting. We built our business around the customers that other distributors overlook. No minimum order, same-day shipping, and a real person on the phone when you call. Our average order ships within 3 hours of placement.

We also maintain strong relationships with authorized channel partners, which means we can source allocated and end-of-life parts that larger distributors have already dropped from their catalogs.

Our Team

Our team of 18 employees includes experienced purchasing agents, warehouse staff with ESD certification, and application engineers who can help with part selection and cross-referencing. We speak the language of your BOM and can turn around quotes in hours, not days.

For accounting and payment questions, reach our finance team at accounting@elkcomponents.net. We offer NET-30 terms for approved commercial accounts and accept all major credit cards, wire transfers, and purchase orders.

We are hiring! Elk Components is growing and we are looking for warehouse associates and inside sales representatives. Send your resume to jobs@elkcomponents.net to apply.

Quality & Compliance

All components are sourced through authorized channels or verified independent distributors. We perform incoming inspection on every lot and maintain full lot traceability. Our facility complies with ANSI/ESD S20.20 standards for electrostatic discharge control, and we can provide certificates of conformance, country of origin documentation, and REACH/RoHS compliance data on request.
